2 & 3. Help for a newly housed man and food vouchers in time for Christmas - Dec 2019

Image
Two donations this week! Firstly we are giving £350 to a man who approached his local food bank, desperate because he had fallen ill & had lost his job just as he moved into an empty council flat. All he has in the flat is a bed, a chair and a microwave. With the money the food bank is going to help him source other household items, like a fridge freezer & a cooker, to be able to live in his flat and get through this difficult time and work out his next steps. Secondly, we are giving our remaining £150 to a lady who lost her husband to a motorbike accident a few months ago. She has 3 children and is struggling to pay her housing costs. Despite struggling herself, this lady gives a lot of her time helping out others in need around her, particularly in the refugee community, who she regularly cooks meals for. We are pleased to be able to give this lady a little help to allow her to buy her family some food and household essentials for Christmas.
