40 - Help to buy uniform for a new job and some financial help with transport costs - March 2021

This donation is for £200, which we have sent to someone who has been through a series of extremely tough events. She unfortunately caught Covid just as she was moving from one job to another and her new job couldn’t be kept open for her. She therefore had no access to furlough help and on top of all this, she was in difficult personal circumstances, and there was a serious illness in her close family, and sadly a death in her close family too.

Despite all of this, this person has picked herself up and gone out and got herself a new job, but just needed a bit of help to buy some specific uniform requirements for her new job and help for transport costs to tide her over until her first paycheck.

500 Together are very pleased to be able to step in and help this person. When we spoke to her, we heard how hardworking and determined she is to get back on her feet. She has consistently worked since she was 16 and has never before had such a combination of things happen to her that meant she needed anything like this.

She didn’t want to take any more than was absolutely necessary and wanted to say a massive thank you to 500 Together. We are very happy to help. The resilience and determination that she has shown is absolutely inspiring and we have no doubt that she will get through this difficult time and get back on track.
