65 - Buying a new pushchair for mum and toddler - Dec 2021

Today we are pleased to share news of donation 65 - £150 to get a new pushchair for a single mum.

Our member told us about her friend who lives with her little boy, having escaped a violent marriage.  She has very little money and has just had to spend most of what she has on her application for British citizenship.  Her pushchair has broken and because her son has a tendency to run off when they are out and about, she has been unable to go out for fear of him escaping and getting into danger.  She uses her pushchair for shopping trips as well, so it has been very limiting not to have one, and she could not afford a new one.

We were pleased to be able to help and took a new, sturdy pushchair to her this week.  She and her son were delighted and wanted to express their huge thanks to you all.   Once she has citizenship she is hoping to get back to work - and hopes one day to be in a position to join our group herself.

We wish her all the best for her future here in Sheffield.
