97 - Gym membership for lady aiming to improve mental and physical ill health

Our 97th donation of £440 goes to help out M, a lady who one of our members identified as needing some 500 together support.

M is trying to move forward with her life after a traumatic childhood.
She lives on her own, but goes to her ex-partners house most days to be mum to her two daughters.

Our member told us that M had been looking forward to attending her friend's wedding as a bridesmaid this year.  Her friend was struggling to get the money to book the rooms for the bridal party together, so M lent her £200, which she could ill afford herself, towards the rooms.

The next day her friend told M that she would not be welcome at the wedding after all,  due to her mental health problems making everyone miserable and her ticks making everyone uncomfortable and promptly blocked her on all media.

Obviously the rejection was extremely hurtful, and it left M without £200 for her own bills and needs.

Our member has been working with M to help her try to improve her mental and physical health, and came to us asking if we would help pay towards a gym membership at a venue where M feels safe and welcome, and can also take her young children.

We were so saddened by the cruelty and discrimation shown by her 'friend' and have paid M the £200 she had lost, as well as funding 3 months gym membership for her, so that she can establish a healthy routine for herself and take her kids swimming as well.

We know our donation has given M a real boost and she sends this message to everyone:

I’d like to say how much I appreciate the donation you have given me. It has given me a sense of hope that there are genuinely nice people out there. The gym helps me on so many levels with my mental and physical health. As well as benefiting my children. It’s one of the only places I can feel safe and not feel judged about my Tourette’s or my mental health. So thank you very much 💙😊

She has also agreed we can share this amazing piece of artwork she created.
