134 - Helping young mum clear debts after leaving abusive husband - Sept 2023

We are pleased to be back with news of donation 134. This week your money has gone to help a brave young woman who has recently left a 10 year emotionally abusive relationship with her two young children.  She has been really strong and courageous leaving her ex, but she is currently struggling.   She does work but is on a low income and her wage is topped up by universal credit. Your husband turns out to be not what you thought and then you get pregnant. You escape the abuse but are then on your own. No family here and it's not safe to go back home. No access to benefits. You don't feel like eating. You are housed but alone. Frightened. 500 Together has paid for a worker to befriend this very vulnerable woman, to support her during the summer holidays and cook her native food to help her to eat and the baby to grow. And the good
