61 - Financial support for Bulgarian family to renew passports October 2021

Donation 61 allows your £500 to help V  pay for the renewal of her son's passport, together with the documents and travel costs associated with the renewal.

V is a Bulgarian single parent of a severely Autistic son G, who is six years old. V has been in utter despair about the time, effort and cost of trying to renew her son’s passport.

Last month, at the Embassy's request, she had to take G to London with all his relevant documentation. She got them up at 3am to make the journey by coach as she can’t afford trains. The coach journey was 5 hours, not an easy journey for anyone, especially G. Once there they told her she didn’t have the correct documentation. She needs to sort that and then make the journey back again. The Embassy also told her that she needs to pay approx £250 for their papers to be translated into Bulgarian before they send it off. V was devastated at the thought of having to somehow find the money for this, plus the coach journey and the stress this would cause.

At 500 Together, we are so pleased to step in and provide the money V needs for the documents and passport renewal, as well as the train travel money so that we can ease the travel situation. V and her son are hoping to make a trip back to Bulgaria next year, something they haven't been able to do for a long time.  V was so relieved when she found out that 500 Together were helping her out, she cried with happiness. We wish them all the best!
